We are building Australia’s future

This election is a choice between Labor’s plan to keep building Australia’s future and Peter Dutton’s plan to make cuts and take us backwards.

A decade of Liberal neglect left our healthcare and housing in crisis, inflation rising and wages at record lows.

Three years on, wages are growing, inflation is down and our tax cuts and energy bill relief are making a real difference.

We now face a choice about whether we build on these foundations by:

    • making it free to see a GP,
    • capping PBS medicines at $25 per script,
    • wiping 20% off student debt, and
    • helping you keep more of what you earn.

Peter Dutton and the Liberals have no plan—just cuts, chaos and division.

This election, let’s keep building a better future.

Medicare Mental Health Centre for Cranbourne

Cranbourne residents will soon have access to free, Medicare-backed mental health care under a re-elected Labor Government.

Too many people in Cranbourne are struggling to get the care they need. This new Medicare Mental Health Centre will be a game-changer—free, accessible support close to home.

Staffed by social workers, nurses, psychologists, and peer support workers, the centre will provide no-cost, walk-in care for those in distress and ongoing support for complex needs.

Nationally, Labor is investing $1 billion in mental health, including:

  • 31 new or upgraded Medicare Mental Health Centres ($225M)
  • 58 new or expanded headspace services ($200M+)
  • 20 Youth Specialist Care Centres ($500M)
  • 1,200+ new mental health professionals & peer workers trained ($90M)

With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing mental ill-health, cost remains a major barrier. Labor is expanding public services to relieve pressure on private providers and reduce wait times.

Peter Dutton’s plan, would push more people into expensive private care.

Labor is strengthening Medicare—making mental health support affordable and accessible for all.

Labor Will Upgrade Berwick-Cranbourne Road

A re-elected Labor Government will replace the Berwick-Cranbourne Road and Thompsons Road roundabout with traffic lights—eliminating one of our community’s worst bottlenecks.

This is a huge win for our community. I’ve heard your frustrations while doorknocking, phone banking, and at street stalls—that’s why I’ve been a strong advocate for this critical upgrade.

This project means less time stuck in traffic and more time with your family.

We are currently working with the Victorian Government on the project timeline. The upgrade will include:

✅ Replacing the roundabout with traffic lights
✅ Adding additional through lanes to increase capacity
✅ Creating dedicated turning lanes to improve traffic flow
✅ Building new walking and cycling paths for safer travel
✅ Upgrading several bus stops to enhance commuter safety

We will also replace Berwick-Cranbourne Road and Pattersons Road roundabout with traffic lights.

Since 2019, five crashes have occurred at this intersection, highlighting the urgent need for action. Our investment will remove the roundabout and install traffic signals, making it safer for motorists and pedestrians while also cutting down travel times.

As a separate project, we are also upgrading Clyde Road between Enterprise Avenue and Bemersyde Drive. This major upgrade includes widening the bridge over the Princes Freeway—further boosting capacity and reducing congestion in this growing area.

Building a Stronger Medicare

👨‍⚕️ Labor Will Expand Bulk Billing So You Can See a GP for Free

A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will expand bulk billing, so every Australians can see a doctor for free. We are making the largest investment in Medicare’s history—an $8.5 billion boost—to deliver 18 million more bulk-billed GP visits every year.

Labor believes healthcare should be based on need, not the ability to pay. This means in Holt, the number of fully bulk-billed clinics will increase from 22 to 35, giving thousands of local families better access to free healthcare, closer to home.

💊 Making Cheaper Medicines even Cheaper.

The Albanese Labor Government will drive down the cost of essential medicines. We have already reduced the maximum cost of PBS medicines to $31.60 per script, and if re-elected we will cut them to $25. This will save Australians over $200 million each year. The last time PBS medicines were this affordable was in 2004.

♀️ Investing in Women's Health

Women’s health should never be an afterthought. That’s why Labor is making historic investments, including:

  • The first PBS listing of new oral contraceptive pills in more than 30 years.
  • New PBS and medicare listings for menopause health.
  • Bulk billing for IUDs and birth control implants.
  • The opening of 11 new endometriosis and pelvic pain clinics.
  • Expanding Medicare-funded IVF treatments.

By prioritising women’s health, we are ensuring Australian women have access to the care they deserve.

🏥 More Funding for Victorian Hospitals

When Peter Dutton was Health Minister, he cut $50 billion from Australian hospitals, including Monash Health. These cuts left hospitals struggling with surgery backlogs and underfunded vital services.

Labor is reversing this damage. We are injecting an extra $402 million into Victorian hospitals next year to help clear surgery backlogs and ensure hospitals can continue delivering the high-quality care our communities rely on.

This election is a choice: a stronger Medicare under Labor or more cuts under Peter Dutton and the Liberals.

3 Day Universal Childcare

a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will take the first steps toward building a universal early education and care system by expanding access to quality childcare nationwide.

As part of these reforms, the Government will introduce the 3 Day Guarantee, ensuring every child has access to at least three days of high-quality early childhood education and care.

From January 2026, the 3 Day Guarantee will replace the current Activity Test, providing guaranteed eligibility for three days per week of subsidised early education for every single family in Australia. This will enable at least 126,000 children from the most disadvantaged households to access childcare.

To support this, from July 2025, the Government will invest $1 billion to expand and build 160 new childcare centres, including in areas like Cranbourne and Clyde, representing one of the largest expansions in Australia’s childcare history.

Wiping 20% Off Student Debt

A re-elected Labor Government will wipe 20% off student debt, delivering real relief for Australians who have worked hard to get an education.

No young Australian should have to choose between their future and the cost of study. This commitment will save the average Victorian graduate $5,755, easing the financial burden on thousands of students and graduates across the country.

This builds on our record of action—wiping $3 billion in student debt and making the repayment system fairer. Labor will always stand up for students and ensure higher education remains affordable and accessible for all.

Making Free-TAFE Permanent

A re-elected Labor Government will make Free TAFE permanent, ensuring at least 100,000 fee-free places every year in areas where Australia needs more skilled workers.

TAFE is the backbone of our workforce, giving people the skills they need for good, secure jobs. But the Liberals have called this “wasteful spending” — just like they did when they cut funding and drove TAFE campuses to the brink of closure.

Labor believes in investing in skills, not cutting them. By making Free TAFE permanent, we’re building a stronger workforce, supporting local industries, and giving every Australian the chance to train for a better future.
